| Yes, Designworld ARE also there for the little things in life! |

When we deliver a project to a client, our service doesn't end there. We like to be thought of in the same way as any other part of our clients' organisations - "an in-house service from an external provider" as we put it.
This was never more true than last week when we were asked to supply at short notice a single replacement pole for a set of roll-up banners we produced back in 2010 for SHARE at Cardiff University.

Not a problem for us to get sorted and the replacement part was delivered in time for the important event in the University's Great Hall. "Thank you for going the extra mile for getting it to us!" wrote Laura Henderson, External Affairs and Marketing Officer at the School of History, Archaeology and Religion.

| A new logo from Designworld for Torfaen Women's Aid |
Designworld are proud to have just created the new logo for Torfaen Women's Aid. After submitting several designs to answer the brief, two final designs were put before the organisation's staff for them to choose their favourite. Of 26 votes cast, 14 were for the choosen logo.
Helen Swain, Director of Torfaen Wonen's Aid said "In changing times it is more important
than ever that we have a quality image
and gold standard reputation.

"I am really pleased with this outcome and it’s a credit to Designworld that the staff found it so hard to choose!!" Helen continued "[with] the abstract flowers you can read a few different things into it – daffodils, stars, gold stars, mother and child, raising stars… Thanks Lou, fantastic!!"
The bilingual logo will be launched shortly, to be rolled out over stationery, support literature, display material and the organisation's website over the next few months. |

18 Shades of Grey, Blue, Red...
a different kind of bedtime story book |
Not sure if we'd call ourselves 'designer geek parents', but we do love this new kids book which features our beloved Pantone colour range designed just for little kids.
It's an oversized board book which aims to introduce kids to the ranges of colour within the broad titles of yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green and brown. Plus there's a page of grays from white through to black. Each of the colour variations within the swatch is given a name which is understandable to kids such as peacock blue, cherry red and bumblebee yellow.

Just don't get me started on Bluebird Blue... |
Now Pantone may note officially be giving their colours cute names but who wouldn't prefer telling a client that their logo is "Shark Grey" rather than PMS 7544. For the sub set of 'designer geek pedant parents' there's a UK version available which spells "colours" correctly, but sticks with the American "gray" inside!
It's not going to replace The Gruffalo as the bedtime standard in our house any time soon, but it certainly a lot of fun for us designer types. it's available now from Amazon. |

| Spice up your walls with a bit of personalised art from Wallspice |
In between all of the other projects, we have also just launched our own new website selling personalised typographic wall art - Wallspice.
Born out of a couple of ideas we came up with for our own decoration and presents for loved ones, we thought that we could put our skills to good use by selling our work online as prints and canvases. We use the personalisation available through e-commerce to create unique artwork for every customer. |

| Our new website for The Egmont Trust goes live |
The "Go" button has been pressed and our new website for The Egmont Trust has just gone live. The result of six months collaboration between Designworld and the team at Egmont have produced a comprehensive, but easy to use resource which we hope will prove successful for educating,, informing and fundraising.
Linnea from Egmont (a charity which aims to tackle and reverse the impact of HIV & AIDS on children in sub-Saharan Africa) said "a huge thank you for all your brilliant work on our new website and for being such a pleasure to work with. You're part of the Egmont family now :-). We've already had rave reviews and tha's before it's even been officially launched."

PS - Unfortunately we don't really have a "Go" button to launch new websites, which is a shame, though it's probably exiting enough seeing them live for the first time anyway. We do, however, have a red "panic" button purchased from the Design Museum a few years ago. Luckily we've never needed than one (ahem).

| Structural steelwork has just never looked so sexy! |
Just as well we're not a superstitious bunch as this Friday 13th saw the "go-live" of the second website we have produced for Rowecord Engineering, the structural steelwork company based beneath the famous transporter bridge on the banks of the river Usk in Newport.
The new website is for their "Rowebeam" product, a piece of software which the company has developed in-house which helps their customers with the analysis and design of steel beams with web openings. |
| Rowebeam software helps produce the web openings in steel I beams |
The new website features an installation photo gallery amongst many other resources and also allows Rowecord customers to register and then download the software to their own PCs to use on their projects. The comprehensive back-end that we developed for Rowecord allows administrators to keep track of all registered users and software downloads. This is the major second website we have produced recently for Rowecord, following the successful launch of the main company website in 2011.

| Happy St David's Day! Back by popular demand - download our DIY daffodil kit |
Happy St David's Day to everyone. It was like a knee-high international day in Canton this morning as throngs wearing Welsh rugby shirts and other forms of traditional Welsh costume made their way to school. Didn't see any brave souls wearing an actual grown-in-the-ground leek though, which is a shame. If you forgot to pin on your regalia this morning, download our DIY Daff and make your own.

| New logo unveiled for local welsh-medium nursery |
We were pleased to recently complete a new logo for Cylch Meithrin Grangetown a'r Bae, the Welsh-medium nursery based in Paget Street, Grangetown, Cardiff.
The logo had to be bright and colourful so that it appealed to kids and staff alike. It also had to work on the hoodies and sweatshirts which were going to be produced for the nursery- and these were going to be available in four different colours.
| "Lliwgar a hwyliog!" |
Luckily we were up to the challenge and produced a bright, fun logo which all of the staff and children seem to love. Can't wait for the summer when they'll all be seen toddling around the Bayon their trips out, hopefully proudly sporting their new colours. |
